THE DOWNTOWN ARMORY FAIR

From May 8-11 this year, the Downtown Armory Fair will enjoy its inaugural edition on Lexington Avenue. The Armory Fair is, at its heart, a showcase for some of New York’s most t renowned art exhibitors, and this year, over fifty spectacular exhibitions are scheduled to show during the two day fair.

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

Held this year on April 16-27, the Tribeca Film Festival is one of the most beloved and renowned springtime events in New York City. Even if you aren’t the biggest movie buff, the festival offers many additional activities to keep you and your guests entertained throughout your experience. There are numerous free panels for aspiring directors and screenwriters, a family festival street fair, the Tribeca ESPN Sports Film Festival, and much more.

TUSCANY IN THE CITY

If you’re a wine drinker and a fan of the sumptuous culinary traditions of Italy, then Tuscany in the City is the spring event of your dreams. Held on April 26 at Del Posto on 10th Avenue, Tuscany in the City will feature a selection of Tuscany’s top producers with samples of their product, as well as special tastings and an interactive question and answer session with the producers. There is also a gala dinner and charity auction later in the evening, with additional wines to be presented.

GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM SPRING EXHIBITS

The Guggenheim is famous for much more than its art exhibits. Its architecture, envisioned and created by the legendary Frank Lloyd Wright, is among the most impressive in the entire city. Its 2014 spring schedule of exhibitions is also impressive, with Carrie Mae Weems’ work on display through May 14, an exhibit entitled Italian Futurism on display from February to September, and Kandinsky in Paris on display through April 23. Whether you’re a true art lover or a casual observer, the Guggenheim’s springtime exhibits are a great pastime for a lazy weekend afternoon.

If you’re a fan of craft beers, Brooklyn Brewery is an amazing springtime stop this year.
