A GUIDE TO THE NEW YORK HALL OF SCIENCE

ARE YOUR PREPARED FOR YOUR NYHS EXPERIENCE?

As summer comes on strong, many of us are looking for ways to keep our kids entertained while still encouraging sharp minds and learning during their break from school. If you’re planning a trip to the Big Apple this summer, you have a ton of options for keeping your kids both occupied and stimulated, from Museum of Natural History to the fabulous New York Hall of Science.

Whether you want to go out on a week afternoon or spend the whole day Saturday exploring the Hall of Science, you should make the occasion special by booking chauffeured car service to handle your commute. Not only will you be relieved of the responsibility of driving and parking, you’ll also get to relax at the end of the day and spend the commutes talking with your children instead of stressing out over the crowds. Once you have your car, it’s important to pick a great restaurant to keep the fun rolling at meal time and to know which exhibits you’d like to see while you’re there. We’ve outlined a few of our favorites to help you get started.

PARK SIDE RESTAURANT

Considered by many New Yorkers to be one of the finest Italian restaurants in Queens, Park Side is the perfect destination for dinner after your visit to the Hall of Science. With an impressive menu full of traditional Italian favorites, including dishes that your kids are sure to love, there’s no way to go wrong by stopping in on Corona Avenue after a day of science and learning.

RAINHAS CHURRASCARIA

Located conveniently off of Grand Central Parkway, Rainhas carries the motto “Eat, Drink, Laugh, Enjoy,” which is perfect for families looking to enjoy a delicious Brazilian meal after a day together at the Hall of Science. Rainhas serves USDA Prime Grade Picanha, the national meat cut of Brazil, and they also offer a slew of special cocktails, beers, and wines. Since you have a chauffeur to take care of your commute, you won’t have to avoid the drink menu.

CHOOSE YOUR EVENTS

Knowing the Hall of Science’s schedule before you go can make it much easier to plan the day of your visit, from timing to eating and scheduling your car service vehicle.

June sees a host of events take place at the Hall of Science, such as:

50 Years of Exploration and Innovation, which opens on June 14th this year and will celebrate the 1964-1965 edition of the World’s Fair, which was held at the New York Hall of Science. Explore some of the most world-changing technology to emerge in the last 50 years through interactive presentations, hands-on activities, and documentaries throughout the event.

If your children are fans of insect life, consider bringing them to Bug Day, scheduled for June 28 this year. Entomologists and beekeepers will be on hand to talk about various bugs, including habitats, mating habits and relationships to humans. There will also be a ladybug release and a bug tasting if you’re brave enough.

Your trip to the New York Hall of Science can be one of the most memorable days of the summer for your kids. Whether they’re learning, laughing or enjoying the wonder of the natural world, the Hall of Science has something to keep the fun rolling all day. With New York car service on hand to take you home at the end of the day, you really have nothing to lose this summer.
