5 CAN’T-MISS EVENTS IN NEW JERSEY THIS SPRING

FILL UP YOUR SPRING CALENDAR NOW

When springtime finally arrives, especially after a long and difficult winter, many people are more than ready to get back out into nature and experience the warm weather and the new greenery.

As spring approaches, many of us are looking for great events to fill our calendars and feed our imaginations, as well as give us the opportunity to spend quality time with our friends and family.

If you want to make your spring event especially unique and enjoyable, chauffeured car service is a must. You won’t have to worry about navigation or parking, and the scenic drive can simply be enjoyed from the backseat.

After you’ve booked your car service, choosing from the many incredible spring events in New Jersey is all that’s left to do. For inspiration, take a look at our list of favorite events below.

1. JERSEY SHORE FESTIVAL

There are few places in New Jersey that are more beautiful during springtime than Seaside Heights, and, for those of you who enjoy the springtime scene at the Jersey Shore, the Jersey Shore Festival is a dream come true. The festival features musical acts, artist displays, craft tables, a vendor village, and of course, amazing food. The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18, on the Boardwalk in Seaside Heights.

2. JOSHUA BELL AT THE NEW JERSEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

On Saturday, May 9 at 8 pm, world-famous, Grammy-award winning violinist and conductor Joshua Bell will take the stage at the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for a night of classical favorites like Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Grieg, and Sibelius. Bell will join Jacque Lacombe and the rest of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for a night of classical standards, entrancing violin and technical perfection.

3. NEW JERSEY SPRING WINE FESTIVAL

Also held on Saturday, May 9, the 2014 New Jersey Spring Wine Festival is the perfect answer to plans for wine-lovers who are willing to travel to Short Hills. The event will be held at the Hilton Short Hills Hotel and will feature a variety of over 150 wines, light hors d’oeuvres, and free jazz music for all attendees. Mix and mingle with fellow wine lovers, enjoy the beauty of the Hilton ball room and celebrate spring with a delightful variety of reds, whites, and blushes. Having a chauffeur to drive you home is important at this event, as you don’t want to risk driving yourself home after all that sampling.

4. JERSEY MOVES! FESTIVAL OF DANCE

If you’ve never visited the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, this springtime is the perfect time for your inaugural visit. One of our favorite events at the Performing Arts Center, Jersey Moves!, is being held on May 3 at the Victoria Theatre, and will feature work by several of the country’s finest dance companies, including the American Repertory Ballet, with other performers on the docket including famed dancers Claire Porter and Timothy Kochka and tap dancer Maurice Chesnutt. The show starts at 8 pm.

5. FINE ART FAIR AT VERONA PARK

If you’re a fan of boutique jewelry, arts and crafts and love local artisan goods, the Fine Art Fair at Verona Park, scheduled for May 17 and 18 of this year, is the perfect spring event for you. Over 140 photographers, artists and vendors will gather in Verona Park to display their craftsmanship, mingle with customers, and of course, sell their handiwork. The Fair is co-sponsored by Rose Squared Productions and the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.

Your springtime in New Jersey can start off with a bang with the right events penciled into your calendar. Make it a truly special occasion by booking a chauffeured car to get you there; not only will you not have to fuss with the efforts of navigating and parking, but you’ll also get to truly enjoy yourself without the responsibility of driving home looming over your head.
