We’ve all been there at one time or another: there’s a big night coming up and we’ve barely prepared. Whether it’s making reservations at the right restaurant or even just finding the right restaurant, there are a million things to do, it seems before you can simply relax and anticipate the enjoyment of a great night out.
Long Island is a wonderful destination for a perfect date; you’ve got art museums, great cafes, live music venues and natural beauty all around. It’s picking the destinations that are most challenging. If you’re one of those who has an important date night to plan but are irked by the ever-nearing date, fret not. We’ve compiled three Long Island dates to make sure your night goes perfectly.
FOR A MORE INTIMATE DATE:
It’s hard to really interact with your date when you’re sitting in a movie or Broadway show. And while both of those date ideas are timeless and tons of fun, those who are looking for a more intimate setting for their night will likely find themselves disappointed by going the “live show” route as well.
For more one-on-one time with your date, it’s important for you to find someone else to drive you. Not only will it make your night less stressful (New York traffic, am I right?), it will give you the chance to connect with your date without the interspersing worry of finding the right exit and making it to the restaurant.
Another way that booking chauffeured transportation will help up the one-on-one time you get with your significant is by turning the limousine ride into a premiere part of the date. Seeing the city lights while tucked comfortably into the back seat of a luxury vehicle probably sounds like the perfect date to plenty of people.
FOR A FOOD-CENTERED DATE
Finding a great restaurant on Long Island is not, in theory, a difficult feat, but when you’ve got so many other things on your mind, the restaurant can often fall by the wayside. Don’t become a victim of a last-minute-restaurant syndrome. Find the perfect eatery beforehand and make sure you check about reservations. One of our personal favorite restaurants in the Long Island area is the Vinegar Hill House, which serves delicious American classics in a local environment that’s perfect for a first date or a 20th anniversary.
FOR A “NEW YORK SIGHTS” CENTERED DATE
Some of our favorite sights on Long Island include the Montauk Lighthouse, a gorgeous 300+ year-old lighthouse that boasts an accompanying museum and gift shop. Visitors are welcome to see all parts of the lighthouse and enjoy the atmosphere of the coast while learning a little about the history of New York State.
Building the perfect date is never easy, especially if you’re the last-minute kind of person. But just because procrastination is in your blood doesn’t mean you can’t plan a stellar outing that your significant other will love just the same. Book a limo, find your restaurant and plan a sightseeing tour, if you want. With a city as beautiful and dynamic as Long Island, the sky is the limit.
