PROM LIMO TIPS FOR PARENTS: FINDING THE BEST COMPANY

HEAD INTO PROM SEASON WITH PEACE OF MIND

Here at Executive Ground Transportation, we know a thing or two about prom season. We also know that parents can get stressed out by the uncertainty of the big evening, especially about their children’s transportation to and from the event. Being prepared, with the right information and the proper precautions, can help you select the best possible transportation company to transport your children on prom night.

Here’s a great video from our CEO Doug Schwartz, followed by a short list of easy tips for booking your teen’s prom limo with a great company.

CHECK FOR MEMBERSHIP IN ORGANIZATIONS

Selecting a company that has memberships in the right local and national organizations is a good indicator of a quality company. For those of you on Long Island, the company you choose should have membership in the Long Island Limo Association, of which Executive Limo’s CEO, Doug Schwartz, is the immediate past president.

Membership in the National Limousine Association and the Better Business Bureau are also preferred, as only companies that have solid histories and good reviews from customers are accepted as members.

GET A SOLID HEAD COUNT IN ADVANCE

This tip is vital to helping you book the most appropriate and affordable vehicle for your children on prom night. Without a solid head count, you can’t know which vehicle is the best for your money and your kids’ needs. Make sure that your kids are communicating with you about any changes in the number of friends they’ll be bringing in the limo or executive bus on prom night; if the number changes after you’ve made the reservation, you’ll need to call and make updates, to ensure you aren’t left paying for a huge vehicle that your kids don’t need.

CHECK FOR DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

There are severe repercussions or your teens with law enforcement officers if they’re caught with drugs and alcohol in the limousine on prom night. Additionally, they will be forced to forfeit their luxury car service for the remainder of the evening, and you will still be charged.

Your children shouldn’t have large bags or suspicious items with them when they leave for prom. Check their belongings thoroughly for drugs or alcohol. Communicate about the dangers and consequences of drugs and alcohol and the dangers involved in getting caught.

ASK FOR INFORMATION ON YOUR CHAUFFEUR

You deserve to know that the person driving your kids around is a responsible and trustworthy professional. This means getting information from your chauffeur before he or she drives off with your kids.

Get a copy of the chauffeurs drivers’ license information, and ask for his or her cell phone number so that you can check in on you kids with an outside source throughout the evening. Provide the chauffeur with any explicit instructions for where the kids are allowed to travel and when they’re allowed to be there.

Communicate your desire for this information before you book with a specific company; if they aren’t comfortable with you having their chauffeurs’ information, it might be time to go a different route for your kids’ prom limo.

You deserve a company that has stringent hiring practices, one that only employs professional chauffeurs who have passed background checks and drug tests and have clean driving records. A company that hires contracted drivers for one-time jobs can’t provide you and your kids with the same trustworthy service and peace of mind that a legitimate company can provide.

Prom season can be stress-free and enjoyable if you’ve booked your kids’ transportation with a company that you can trust. We hope you feel more confident in your ability to choose the right limo as prom season approaches.
