CAUMSETT STATE HISTORIC PARK RESERVE

OLD WESTBURY PARK

Old Westbury Gardens is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and offers visitors the opportunity to explore gorgeous manicured gardens, magnificent landscaped grounds, woodlands, meadows and more.

You can visit the interior of the estate’s period mansion, as well, which holds a variety of historical and antique furniture, much of which is original to the house and belonged to the home’s original family, John Phipps, his wife Margarita and their children.

The Charles II-style mansion awaits your visit on any gorgeous upcoming weekend this summer.

SAGAMORE HILL NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

20 Sagamore Hill Road, Oyster Bay, NY

Sagamore Hill was home to Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States and one of the most important historical figures in our country’s history.

Sagamore Hill offers visitors the chance to explore the estate’s grounds and the home where Theodore Roosevelt lived during the summers of his presidency. Sagamore was such a staple in Roosevelt’s presidency that it became subsequently known as “The Summer White House.”

The contents of the home have been preserved to maintain the legacy and historical accuracy of Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency and life; the grounds and surrounding woodlands have been carefully maintained for visitors throughout the 96 years since his death.

The house has been closed but will re-open on July 12, 2015 with a day-long celebration.
